UPDATE ON 11/4/10: Yesterday Joe's mom called and said the plane has now been found and it was as assumed. . .the four members were killed during the crash. Such a tragedy. My heart breaks for their loss.
I have been saddened since Saturday by some news that my husband told me. Before he and I were married his mom threw me a baby shower with her friends at one of their houses. The host's nephew and his three sons (twins age 14 and another boy age 12) went missing last Monday, October 25 when they flew their private plane after a weekend wedding in Wyoming. The man's wife and their 5 year old son had gone home on a commercial flight.
Even though I've never met them, I have cried off and on about this. It's bad enough when a single loved one passes on, but can you imagine your entire family? My heart goes out to those still here.
The four males have not been found. . . it's freezing temperatures so even if they did survive it would seem unlikely that they could survive an entire week in that area. On October 28 the distress signal was found so that gave hope for finding them, but apparently it is considered one of the most remote areas of the US, so they still haven't been located.
It was his second marriage so his wife was the three boys' stepmother (meaning two women are without their sons), and he'd had two daughters as well as the five year old boy. He was the CEO of a software company in Minnesota, forty years old, and had been flying for many years -- just this month he got his commerical pilot's license. The family was all active in church and sound like wonderful Christian people from the stories others have written about them. Please help pray for a miracle. For updates, you can visit his his family's blog.
