Lots of Firsts!

This was originally written on Saturday, June 20, 2009:

I wanted to post pics of Logan's first time swimming today! Yes, it was a milestone week :)

In my last post I said that Logan began talking by saying "uh-oh!" Well after saying that constantly for the past three days, he decided to move on - but must like that theme/idea because today he's been walking around the house dropping things on purpose and saying "oh shoot!"

I didn't realize how often I say these two things - but now I notice that whenever something annoying happens (like the baby gate fell over this afternoon) I say "oh shoot!" It's a good thing that's what I'm saying instead of something else, haha! However sometimes it really does sound like Logan is saying the alternative version :p We didn't put the baby gate back up right away and so every time Logan passed it he would point and say "oh shoot!"

Then tonight whenever he'd see Joe, he'd point and say "Dad!"

On Thursday (his 14 month birthday) he began walking up and down the stairs holding on to the railing. He obviously decided it wasn't necessary if Joe & I weren't crawling up and down, haha (which, by the way, he crawled down for the first time the week of May 11th, at 12 months-25 days).

Sadly, the last of his molars popped through yesterday - as in 3 sides! The first molar (his bottom right) came in a couple of weeks ago. That was actually worse for him than three at a time, but we still would not have made it through without Tylenol yesterday - that was really a lifesaver. There had only been one other tooth that we'd had to give him Tylenol for because most of the time the natural teething tablets worked that I've mentioned in three previous posts (such as, My Recommendations--Part Two) - but not for his last five teeth. (I bought the Baby Safe Feeder in March, but even though I put Logan's favorite fruit in it he wouldn't chew on it, just like he still won't chew on teething toys.) So he now has 11 teeth!

Anyway, today we finally had a chance to buy a blow-up pool and put Logan in swimmers diapers and trunks for the first time. I think he liked it (even though he didn't like sitting down in it) so we'll definitely do it several more times this summer! :)

First step in!
Ready to play!
That was fun!

Hi Andrea! Guess what? It really made me laugh reading your entry today because of that" oh shoot" thing, I, most of the time, say those 2 words, and my husband keeps teasing me about it, and I said, it's better than cursing or any other bad words, right?

Anyway, that's so cute of Logan enjoying the pool for the first time! He is indeed adorable!! I remember, it was last Father's Day when we set up our pool and it was Daniel's first time swimming too! He was scared at first, but eventually, he fell in love with it, he just wanted to swim all day..

Please know how thankful I am for your wonderful comment about Daniel's little brother. My husband and I were hoping for a girl, but we both know this is exactly what God wanted us to have, so having another boy is really a great blessing for us!

Hope you have a fun filled weekend!!

Debbie :)

Andrea, this looks really fun! I love the "oh shoot!" - made me giggle.

With your stories I am looking forward more and more to be a full pledged mother:)

I do hope your friend get's a miracle too...soon. I know how stressful it is to try to conceive and to find out that there are some problems.

What a cutie. He seems so comfortable in the water. My oldest is afraid of water but my youngest loves it. Hopefully, Jeffrey will grow out of his fear.

Aww! Logan is such a cutie!! :) You are so blessed to have a cutie pie Andrea! :D

Did he say "mom" or "mommy" yet? Today I thought I heard Lucas say "mommy" but then I was half asleep and I might've been dreaming, so I'm not sure.. LOL :D Still "daddy, daddy" for everything with Lucas..

Wow! 11 teeth already and he's only 14 months.. Lucas is 14 months old too and only has 4 teeth, although I think he's vampire teeth(canines are the term I think??LOL) are coming out.. :D It hurts to breastfeed sometimes but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to take for 6 more months! WooHoo!! :D

Lucas' first time in a big pool he didn't want to go out.. :D Now, can't go swimming anymore because we're in the middle of our wet season, so everyday it's raining..

Those are great pictures Andrea!! Give Logan a big big hug and kiss for me! :)
