Posting a day early for Music Monday! In my opinion, the 1980s had the best love songs! It is hard for me to pick a favorite, but if I had to choose just one it has been this particular song since I first heard it when I was nine years old. I wish I could find the original (by Cher and Peter Cetera) but this one is still pretty good - it's Cher and one of her bandmates singing "After All." (Aside from my new job, I've been busy over at my autobiography site, so I'm still on blog break - meaning this is all from me this week!)
Well, here we are again;
I guess it must be fate.
We've tried it on our own,
But deep inside we've known
We'd be back to set things straight.
I still remember when
Your kiss was so brand new.
Every memory repeats,
Every step I take retreats,
Every journey always brings me back to you.
After All the stops and starts,
We keep coming back to these two hearts,
Two angels who've been rescued from the fall.
After All that we've been through,
It all comes down to me and you.
I guess it's meant to be,
Forever you and me, After All.
When love is truly right
(This time it's truly right.)
It lives from year to year.
It changes as it goes,
Oh, and on the way it grows,
But it never disappears,
Always just beyond my touch,
You know I needed you so much.
After All, what else is livin' for?

a very nice post!
Definitely a great love song. I heard this version after watching the movie, Chances Are, which I think it comes from. ;)
Oh, and you're right: 80's love ballads are the best! Especially those metal ballads. LOL.
All 80s music is the best music although I am an avowed 80s girls so I might be slightly biased. Your pointing out how old you were when that song came out just reinforced how much older than you I am.
Bchai - I LOVE the movie Chances Are - that is where I first heard it, too :-) Anne - I agree, all 80s music is the best :-)
