“New Version” Blog Begins!

A couple of months ago I mentioned that I would be changing my blog – not just the layout but the format/content. That finally begins today! :)

In my post, One Week Til My Return, I gave examples of my previous layouts. I’ve never been taught html but when Joe & I got married in 2003 I wanted to make a family website, so I “self taught” myself enough so that a year later I revealed a website to my family and friends that I was proud of until I took it offline in 2007. In 2005-2008 I was a MySpace addict and learned enough of the html code there that I was very happy with my page (I changed it every month) and was able to help a lot of other people with their pages as well.

But my blog has been a completely different story. Since going public in 2008, my layout has taken me quadruple the amount of time as someone who actually knows what they’re doing, lol, and there are some things I just can’t do at all. I wanted a layout that I could keep for a very long time.

So, last weekend I decided rather than make my own blog layout anymore – I would hire a professional. I selected Southern Girl Blog Designs! Not only because I loved her work, but she could work with me very quickly. I sent her my client form on October 10 and my layout was uploaded by October 15. Not counting her waiting list, it usually takes her two days from when she begins designing to when the layout is complete. I LOVE it – it’s exactly what I wanted. I chose my header from iStock and told her what colors, font, and traits of her other blog layouts that I wanted.
