Just as my husband and I were ready to leave for our weekend getaway we realized that something was wrong with my car. My locks don't work (locking or unlocking the doors) nor do the windows (roll up or down). On Thursday everything was working fine, I have no idea what happened. :( The car still runs so I don't think it's my battery. . .but we ended up taking my husband's car on our trip, and when we get home hopefully we will figure out what's wrong with my car and it can be fixed.
Maybe I should have bought a Ford Taurus, it has been rated very highly on RepairPal.com. You can go to RepairPal.com's website to find out the overall score on car information such as Body, Brakes, Drive Train, Electrical & Lights, Engine, Exhaust & Emissions, Heating & Air Conditioning, Suspension & Steering. The website is also great if you need a repair like I do - for example, Head Gasket Replacement. Or, even if you're just looking for a place to take your car, such as Los Angeles Auto Repair - not only can you read reviews about shops and mechanics, but RepairPal.com gives you exact locations so you can find the one nearest to you.
When I get home I will be checking out RepairPal.com in order to find the best auto repair shop for my situation. Because, although we're planning to get a bigger car at some point, we are not ready to trade in my car just yet!

gonna make myself sound all nerdy... I've worked in the automotive industry for 9 years though...and I'm a girl. :-) I've worked in the service department for Ford/Toyota as a claims administrator and as a service advisor...
Door locks/windows not working - sounds like the master switch. I could probably even give you a reasonably close estimate of what a dealer would repair it for... however, a simple electronic pinpoint test will tell you if there's continuity(sp??) going to that part...
That'd be where I'd start.
There - I'm a girl, and a car nerd. Sorry!!
email me your year/make/model ...
I'll do my very best... :-)
