American Idol Finale!

Yeay Kris Allen! I'm good - in my post, Catch Up Time I said that when American Idol announced the top 36 I picked my favorite three. They were Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey, and Kris Allen. Those ended up being the actual final three this season! However, each week since the top 12, I only called in for one: Kris Allen.

All three guys were totally different and so I liked them equally because I could appreciate all of their styles. But Kris is the only type of CD that I buy. Hopefully they will all get recording contracts.

Adam was expected to win, with Danny a close second. Kris was kind of ignored for more than half the season. Maybe it was the resemblance to my brother, haha, or the fact that Kris just seemed like such a nice, good guy - but I wanted him to stay in. Despite so many people calling him "boring" or not even knowing his name - I didn't think he was getting enough credit. I thought he did flawless nearly each week. When the judges bashed him during "Apologize" I was shocked - I had been in awe during that performance! So, I called for two hrs straight the night he got into the top two and was happy that I only got through ten times in those two hours. Obviously I wasn't the only one rooting for the under dog.

Until then I had been convinced that Adam was going to win (and I would have been just as happy with that), but last night I had a feeling that Kris was going to be the surprising winner of American Idol. I am happy; I think Adam was destined for a record deal the second he made the show, but Kris might have gone unnoticed if he had gotten kicked off earlier in the season. He is what American Idol is all about: taking regular people, "the guy next door," and giving them a shot that they wouldn't have had otherwise. Now, because of this show, Kris gets to pursue his dream. If only we could all be so lucky!!!
